"I want to paint all the colors in the world"

This article on Stanley Whitney and colour was poignant me for he is playing with colour and experimenting with line just as I am. Art critic John Yau writes:

"The other thing that struck me about the monotypes is Whitney’s commitment to playfulness, to getting out of his comfort zone, to avoid mimicking in one medium what he does in another: these are not high-end copies of his paintings. They are not about branding. Rather, they are about testing limits and experimenting with form."

Interesting that he is working with watercolour  transferred to hand made paper on monotypes and there was also a mention in the article that the materials express themselves through the work, watercolour and drawing and printmaking.
